Steve joined Cameron Carmichael as a Strategic Partner dedicated to supporting the full breadth of our search and advisory efforts. With specific expertise in executive coaching and integration, Steve brings decades of hands-on c-suite success across a broad array of organizations.
As the immediate past President & CEO of the North Carolina Healthcare Association (NCHA), Steve successfully represented more than 130 hospitals and health systems statewide, advocating for policies that advanced healthcare access and innovation. Prior to this role, Steve served in various senior executive roles within small rural hospitals early in his career, to one of the state’s largest health systems.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Steve is a dedicated educator and mentor. He has served as adjunct faculty at East Carolina University and has been a guest lecturer at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, Duke University, and the Medical University of South Carolina. He now leads our firm’s leadership coaching and advisory work, helping organizations and individuals achieve their full potential.
A North Carolina native, Steve earned his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel and an MBA from Georgia Southern University. A retired Army Medical Service Corps Officer, his military service included command and staff assignments, as well as a pivotal role with the Army Surgeon General.
