THE CHALLENGE

The SVP of Sales for a leading publicly traded sports apparel company, with the most dynamic brand in sports in the past 30 years, was seeking a VP of Sales responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s apparel sales.

The Strategy

Our focus was on “player/coach” leaders with 15 years or more of progressive sales experience in a sports or apparel related industry. Candidates had to possess deep subject matter expertise of apparel or related industries. In addition, we were seeking sales leaders with strong and proven relationships with sporting goods and athletic specialty accounts. Most importantly, we had to find candidates who possessed the personal competencies that would allow them to embrace and live the professional core competencies of this unique company culture. We focused our efforts domestically and internationally. Relocation to the company HQ was a must.

The Results

We successfully recruited a proven Vice President of Sales of one of fastest growing women apparel start-ups in America. She had been instrumental in her company’s success. She and her family relocated from Atlanta to the company headquarters and she is now responsible for leading all of the department store channels for apparel, footwear, accessories and the company’s entire women apparel sales.
